As CEO and Founder of MindBodyGreen.com, Jason’s goal is to inspire people around the world to live their healthiest lives, by making informed choices about food, movement, and spirituality.

I found the physiotherapist Robin McKenzie “McKezie Method” very similar, simple easy poses. the book

“7 Steps to a Pain-Free Life: How to Rapidly Relieve Back and Neck Pain” is very helpful with self diagnosis and when to seek professional help.

    Hi Ben,

I am so appreciative of everything that you. Check out this link to Andrew Weil explaining a simple breathing technique. It clarifies the thinking behind exhaling for twice as long as you inhale when you are using the breath to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

I have had chronic lower back pain for about two years (note: ease in to deadlifting after taking 7 years off!), and have tried a wide variety of approaches to getting in under control including PT visits, the Kelly Starret protocol and others with little to no success.. so this podcast naturally grabbed my interest. Previously I've found that yoga aggravated the pain but I wasn't doing a routine designed specifically for back pain. Since I already have a daily practice it seemed easy enough to try out this routine 2x daily. I'm on day two and I don't want too get overly excited after so little time but my back is definitely feeling the best it's felt in as long as I can remember… I really look forward to seeing where this goes. Thanks for the podcast!

Many factors can be at the root of the back pain, including poor posture, an injury, strain, or other internal conditions that can have an impact on the spine.

Loved the talk with Jason Wachob about the importance of Yoga and some proper recovery techniques. I loved how Jason talks about utilizing the great aspects of East and West techniques to health. As we know there are great Western technological advances that can help enhance our physical health and diagnose health problems; there are also great techniques from the East, like Yoga, that can help aid in recovery the “natural” way without surgery. I love it when health specialists say do what works for you, but I also feel more people should utilize natural ways to improve health which starts with the basics of exercising and eating healthy. I have a history of over-training and have utilized Yoga on recovery days because I feel the need to do something (other than rest) to enhance my physical fitness on a daily basis.
