In this video, Ben demonstrates a core exercise called “The Sit-Out” that works your abdominals, your hips, and your upper body. What do you think? Have you tried this exercise? Leave your comment below!

A sample workout that includes the sit-out core exercise would be the following routine, performed as a circuit, 3-5x through:

-5 minute cardio warm-up

-10 push-ups

-10 narrow grip-pushups

-10 little bigs

-10 sit-outs per side

-10 lunge jumps

Cool, Ben that's a new one for me! My clients and boot campers will "love" them!

New one for me as well, only thing I'm concerned with is injuring my knee, because the position just feels uncomoftable for me and I feel like I'm twisting my knee. Any suggestions?

Monika,

How is your core strength? If is is inadequate, or your hip flexibility in rotation is poor, you could wind up overusing your legs…

I would say my core strength is excellent, I do however have problems with my low back (inflamed disks due to deadlifting) which I believe might be the issue here.
